My First Practice Sock

While waiting for my new EFG Sock Loom to get here, I've decided to practice using my SG Preemie Hat Loom and worsted weight yarn.

I'm using Isela's Ribbed Sock Pattern but with a garter stitch heel.

The only part I see that I'm not really happy with is my Kitchener Stitch. It seems that somehow when I transferred the stitches to needles I did something wrong ... there is a twist to the stitch. Hopefully I will be able to correct this on the second sock.

I'd like to thank Tracey for all the help and helpful information she has been sharing with us all.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Window Blind Baby Blanket ...

I finished my first Window Blind Baby Blanket ... oh how I love it ... I am already working on my second one since I wasn't originally able to get the color yarn that I had wanted.

I have to say thank you Graciela so much for such a wonderful pattern.

Some more of what I've been working on ...

My loom class group project was an eyeglass case. It was alot of fun and I learned a new way to cast-on :)

I also started working on a baby afghan made in the prettiest Window Blind Pattern from Graciela. It's very hard to see the stitch in this picture but I will try to get a better one.

I also made a small flat bottom purse to try felting ... I haven't taken it's picture yet or tried the felting part ... will let you all know how it comes out.

Hug-Me-Tight Bolero Vest

I have been working for days on this wonderful Bolero Vest.

Now it is finally complete ... I need to work on putting items back on the loom (especially if they have ribs) and also need to work on my seams. But I think it came out pretty good.

E-Wrap vs. Flat Stitch and Bootie Issues

Well here's my issue ... my pattern calls to knit the rows and a bit further down there are some purl rows added ... but should I use the e-wrap or the flat stitch. Both are considered knit yet the flat stitch is much tighter.

I decided to do it both ways and see which I preferred.

As you can see the one on top is much looser ... my preference is the tighter knit one done in the flat stitch.

I have also been working on my first baby bootie with a heel and it still needs a bit of work on the heel part. It looks kinda messy to me, I think I might be wrapping wrong when decreasing and then increasing the rows. It's almost like purl stitches sticking out there and I don't like them.

After effects of a brief hail storm back in March ...

I figured I'd share this with friends and family back home who like me have never experienced a hail storm like this.

Needless to say I probably have somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 dents on the hood of my car :(

More Scrunchies and First Attempt at Converting Knitting Pattern Hat

I've made a few more hair scrunchies 2 with Tutu yarn and the 3rd with Patons Twister ... I've been trying different pony tail holders inside both the Goody and also the polybands (I've found sometimes the regular Goody one's end up separating where they are joined).

Michelle had posted a link to a wonderful hand knit pattern for a Newborn Adjustable Hat ... I fell in love with this adorable hat so I am working on coverting it to a loom pattern. This is the first time I am trying to do this, and being that I'm fairly new to looming this is a challenge.

I am using CinDWoods Preemie Hat Loom. I want to try different cast-on and bind-off as well as adding a few more eyelets to make it gather a little nicer.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Pics of some hats that I've made thanks to some wonderful patterns from Dusty @ www.dustysoriginals.com (the bottom 2 are Reversible Hats and the top Lime Pearl Band Hat). The 2 on the top right are Preemie Hats.

This one is another picture of the Pearl Band Hat.

Then I've also made some Hair Scrunchies ... The Berry colored one was made using Eyelash Yarn and the Purple one using Tutu Yarn thanks to Lisa @ www.loomknittingdesigns.com.

Pictures of some of my other scarves.

I've made quite a few Magic Scarves ... here are the pics ...

This last one here was made with double strands of yarn ... so it's much heavier.

A Coat for one of the babies ...

I decided to make a Dog Coat ... it came out cute ... however it was way to big for the one dog and a bit to tight for the other :)

My First Projects

Instead of starting my looming with hats ... I started with The Magic scarf ...

The first one I made came out a little shorter then I would have normally done but I still love it and use it.

My second project was also a Magic Scarf that I gave to my mom.

Then I tried a Reversible Scarf which came out pretty good ... I just messed up a little on the finishing.

Beginning to Blog

Well I have never done this before ... so this can be interesting ...

Since starting loom knitting so many of you have blogs that I have decided to try it.

I'm gonna take some pictures and post information on the projects I have done. Hopefully I will be able to get it all up by later today ...

Wish me luck :)
